On May 1, 2013, at approximately 7:30 AM, Detectives arrested Ernest A. Ayotte, age 47, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for two counts of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender. Mr. Ayotte was returned to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was interviewed and processed. Mr. Ayotte was arraigned in Third District Court before the Honorable Judge Mary McCaffrey. Bail was set at $10,000 personal recognizance.
On May 1, 2013, at 10:00 AM, Detectives arrested Andres Feliz, age 39, as a Fugitive From Justice out of Waterbury, Connecticut, on the following original charges: 1) First-Degree Sexual Assault; 2) Fourth-Degree Sexual Assault; 3) Unlawful Restraint; and 4) Risk of Injury to a Minor. This arrest was the result of an investigation by Deputy United States Marshal Engen. Mr. Feliz was arraigned in Sixth District Court, where extradition proceedings were waived. Mr. Feliz was ordered held at the Adult Correctional Institutions to await Waterbury Police Department officials.
On May 1, 2013, Detectives arrested Michael J. Wells, 44, as a Fugitive from Justice from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Mr. Wells was wanted by the Massachusetts Office of Adult Probation for Violating his probation status after being charged with Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Mr. Wells was presented before the Honorable Judge McCaffrey in Third Division District Court, where extradition proceedings were waived. Mr. Wells was remanded to the Intake Service Center to await Massachusetts authorities.
On May 1, 2013, Detectives arrested Joshua C. Fleming, age 32 for with Simple Assault. Mr. Fleming was presented before the Honorable Judge McCaffrey in Third Division District Court where he offered a plea of not guilty. Mr. Fleming was also presented as a probation violator and was ordered held without bail. Judge McCaffrey set bail on the Simple Assault charge at two thousand dollars ($2,000) with surety. Mr. Fleming was remanded to the Adult Correctional Institutions to await trial.
On May 1, 2013, at approximately 11:30 AM, Detectives arrested Partaja Spann, age 27, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Obstruction of the Judicial System. Ms. Spann was returned to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where she was interviewed and processed. Ms. Spann was arraigned in Sixth District Court before the Honorable Judge Joseph Houlihan. Ms. Spann pled Nolo Contendere and the case was filed for one year with courts costs.
