Governor Lincoln D. Chafee Nominates Maeve Donohue for RIEDC Board

Final of Governor's Nominees for Refocused Board

Providence, RI - Governor Lincoln D. Chafee today announced his nomination of Maeve Donohue, President of Barrington's Nami Studios, for the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC) Board of Directors. Nami Studios is a full service marketing and public relations firm specializing in web strategies, e-commerce, social media, branding applications, search engine optimization, new media, graphic design, and publicity for small businesses and corporate brands.

"Maeve Donohue has a diverse and varied background in a number of endeavors, from working on the X-Games team when they were held in Rhode Island in the 1990s to owning a small business abroad," Governor Chafee said. "More recently, she has built an impressive portfolio in marketing, public relations, brand consulting, and technology. Maeve works directly with business owners and helps them achieve their growth goals through innovative strategies. Her outlook will be valuable for the new RIEDC Board, which has shifted its focus to helping existing Rhode Island businesses – many of them small businesses – succeed and grow, while working to attract new job-creators to our state. As a representative of the new economy, Maeve will be an important member of our team."

Donohue has been President of Nami Studios, an integrated design, marketing, and communications company, since 2001. Nami Studios specializes in web strategies, e-commerce, social media, branding applications, search engine optimization, new media, graphic design, and publicity for small businesses and corporate brands. As President, Donohue works closely with clients to determine their business and marketing goals in order to develop the most effective plan for their unique situation. She is responsible for the overall creative vision of the agency.

Donohue is also Creative Director for Brand Visionaries, LLC, a full-service brand consultancy in Rhode Island and New York specializing in brand portfolio management, brand analysis, brand valuation, brand strategy, and corporate design.

Donohue has also recently served as a Design & Strategy Mentor for the MIT Media Lab's Health & Wellness Innovation Hackathon, a two-week event that brings together students, health professionals, and innovators from industry to build technology that empowers patients to take control of their health. She previously served as owner of the Yoga Loft and as co-owner of Downtown New York, a boutique in Seville, Spain, featuring custom silvery jewelry, fashions, and accessories from New York City. She was also the Assistant Athletic Coordinator for the first and second X-Games, which were held in Rhode Island. Donohue earned a BFA in Illustration & Animation from the Rhode Island School of Design.
