RI State Police Investigates a Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash at the Intersection of Route 6 and Route 94 in the Town of Foster

On May 16, 2012 at 1:40 p.m., Troopers from the Rhode Island State Police Scituate Barracks and Officers from the Foster Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 6 at the intersection of Route 94 in the Town of Foster.

The investigation revealed that a vehicle described as red Ford Focus being operated by Tracy Guy, age 38, of 56 Dawley Road, Griswold, Connecticut was traveling east on Danielson Pike (Route 6) in the Town of Foster. A second vehicle described as a gold Buick Regal being operated by a Will Girard, age 19, of 96 Central Pike, Foster, Rhode Island was traveling north on Foster Center Road (Route 94). As both vehicles entered the intersection of Danielson Pike and Foster Center Road, Mr. Girard's vehicle struck the passenger side of Ms. Guy's vehicle. The impact caused both vehicles to continue across the east and westbound lanes of Danielson Pike before coming to rest in the grass on the opposite side of the highway. Ms. Guy was pronounced dead at the scene by the State Medical Examiner's Office. Mr. Girard was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Members of the State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, Scituate Barracks and Detective Bureau are conducting an extensive investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
