Detectives arrested Pedro Ortiz, aka: Miguel Guity, age 54, of lka: 34 Valley Street, Providence, Rhode Island, with being a Fugitive from Justice from the State of New York. Ortiz was wanted by the Bronx District Attorney's Office for failure to appear before the New York City Superior Court on an original charge of Possession of Dangerous Drugs. Ortiz was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Houlihan in Third Division District Court where extradition proceedings were waived. Ortiz was remanded to the Intake Service Center of the ACI to await New York authorities.
Detectives arrested Joey M. Ganhadeiro, age 27, of lka: 7 Abner Street, Smithfield, Rhode Island, with Violation of a No Contact Order. Ganhadeiro was presented before the Honorable Judge Houlihan of the Third Division District Court where he plead not guilty. Judge Houlihan set $1,000 personal recognizance bail and scheduled a pre-trial conference for July 12, 2013. Ganhadeiro was also presented as a Superior Court 46 (g) bail violator and was remanded to the Intake Service Center of the Adult Correctional Institution where he continues to be held without bail on a separate domestic related charge.
Detectives arrested Wilber Adames, age 29, of 18 Boyd Street ,Providence, RI, for the following offenses: 1.) Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver; 2.) Superior Court Bench Warrant for failure to appear for cost review on the on the original charge of Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule I/II originating from the Providence Police Department. The arrest is a result of an investigation by the HIDTA Unit. Mr. Adames was transported to the Lincoln Barracks, processed and turned over to Sixth District Court where he was held as a Superior Court Violator.
Detectives arrested Howard A. Jones, age 51, of 543 Laurel Hill Avenue, Third Floor, Cranston, Rhode Island for 1) Three (3) counts of Obtaining Money under False Pretenses; 2) Three (3) counts of Unlawful Appropriation; and Three (3) counts of Mortgage Consultant Regulations. Mr. Jones was transported to the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed, presented as a probation violator by the Attorney Generals office. Mr. Jones arraigned before Justice of the Peace Rui Alves and transported to the Adult Corrections Institute pending an arraignment at 6th Division District Court.
