Media Advisory: Track Work to Temporarily Affect Commuter Rail Between T.F. Green and Wickford Junction

Amtrak is completing necessary track work in Rhode Island that will affect MBTA Commuter Rail service between the Providence, T.F. Green and Wickford Junction stations for five consecutive Fridays in July and August.

WHAT: As part of an Amtrak project to replace railroad ties across its New England Division, MBTA service interruptions will be experienced. The service interruptions will require temporary adjustments to the schedules of six trains that service Rhode Island's commuter rail stops.

WHEN: Fridays only between July 12 and August 9.

BACKGROUND: The following commuter rail trains will be affected by the work:

Train 8803 (5:45 a.m. train from Providence to Wickford Junction) will not stop at T.F. Green station.

Train 813 (4 p.m. train from Boston to Wickford Junction) will end at T.F. Green and not continue to Wickford Junction. Buses will be available to transport passengers to Wickford.

Train 817 (5 p.m. train from Boston to Wickford Junction) will end at T.F. Green and not continue to Wickford Junction. Buses will be available to transport passengers to Wickford.

Train 819 (5:40 p.m. train from Boston to Wickford Junction) will end at T.F. Green and not continue to Wickford Junction. Buses will be available to transport passengers to Wickford.

Train 8802 (6:55 p.m. train from Wickford Junction to Providence) will not operate. Buses will be available to transport passengers from Wickford Junction to T.F. Green and Providence.

Train 8804 (7:45p.m. train from Wickford Junction to Providence) will not operate. Buses will be available to transport passengers from Wickford Junction to T.F. Green and Providence.
