Contact: Major James M. Manni, Community Outreach Coordinator Telephone: (401) 444-1006

Colonel Steven G. O'Donnell, Superintendent, of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of Public Safety, announces that Rhode Island State Troopers will be collecting toys for the "Kids, Cops & Christmas" program.

In conjunction with Ocean State Job Lot, Troopers will be at two Ocean State Job Lot locations where we are asking the public to help "Fill the Cruiser" with toys, which will then be donated to benefit less fortunate children and teens served by seven area charitable organizations.

The event will take place on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the following locations:

Ocean State Job Lot 1173 Tiogue Avenue Coventry, RI 02816

Ocean State Job Lot 1493 Hartford Avenue Johnston, RI 02919

The Rhode Island State Police has a long history and commitment to helping children. We hope to be able to distribute 1,000 gifts to 1,000 children who may not otherwise have a Christmas.
