Health Recommends Beach Openings and Closings

The Department of Health (HEALTH) recommends the closure of North Kingstown Town Beach in North Kingstown to swimming due to high bacteria counts. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the areas are safe for swimming. Water quality analysis is conducted by the HEALTH laboratory or a state certified laboratory.

The following licensed beach remains closed to swimming: Goddard Memorial State Park Beach in Warwick. HEALTH officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the area is safe for swimming.

The following beaches are now open to swimming: Atlantic Beach Club Beach in Middletown and Warren Town Beach in Warren. This recommendation is based on results from water samples that show bacteria levels within acceptable limits. HEALTH will continue to monitor the water quality regularly to assure safe bathing throughout the summer season.
