Lt. Governor McKee Statement on Appointment of Ann C. Assumpico as Superintendent of Rhode Island State Police

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Today, Lt. Governor Daniel J. McKee issued the following statement on the appointment of Ann C. Assumpico as Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police:

"I congratulate Colonel Assumpico on her appointment as Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police. She has had a tremendous career in public safety, demonstrating not only her ability to protect and serve, but also her commitment to strengthening the State of Rhode Island.

I also applaud Governor Raimondo for promoting from within the ranks of the State Police to fill this important position. The State Police is one of Rhode Island's finest and most well-respected institutions. I am confident Colonel Assumpico will carry on its longstanding tradition of excellence and integrity."

Lt. Governor McKee's Chief of Staff and former Police Chief for the Town of Cumberland, Anthony Silva, also issued the following statement on Assumpico's appointment:

"I had the privilege of working closely with Ann during my 28 years in local law enforcement. I have seen firsthand her passion, dedication and unparalleled leadership, all of which she has demonstrated consistently throughout her 40 years of service to our state. I know the Rhode Island State Police is in good hands with Colonel Assumpico."
