Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported September 22, 2017)

Christopher Garofano (age 32) 578 Central Avenue Johnston, RI P1-2017-2743AG

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Christopher Garofano with two counts of first degree robbery, four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, two count of using a firearm while committing a crime of violence, and one count of vandalism.

It is alleged that on or about November 7, 2016, Garofano robbed, at gunpoint, the DB Mart on Atwood Avenue in Johnston. It is further alleged that Garofano robbed, at gunpoint, the same DB Mart on November 20, 2016. Neither the cashiers working at the time of both incidents nor a customer in the store at the time of the November 20, 2016 robbery were injured.

The alleged incidents took place in Johnston and the Johnston Police conducted the investigation. Garofano is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause on September 28, 2017.

Angel Aviles (age 19) 171 Sackett Street Providence, RI P1-2017-2744A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Angel Aviles with first degree robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy.

It is alleged that on or about January 20, 2017, Aviles and two unidentified male co-conspirators robbed an individual at gunpoint.

The alleged incident took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Aviles is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on October 11, 2017.

Matthew Cabral (age 29) 1900 S. Semoran Blvd. Orlando, FL P1-2017-2745A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Matthew Cabral with first degree robbery and assault and battery resulting in serious bodily injury.

It is alleged that on or about May 28, 2016, Cabral assaulted and robbed an individual, resulting with the victim being seriously injured.

The alleged incident took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Cabral is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on October 11, 2017.
