The caller ID for all state Department of Human Services regional family center staff was recently changed to show our Call Center number, 1-855-MY-RIDHS (855-697-4347). It no longer shows the individual name or desk phone number of the DHS staff person. This was done for security reasons to protect the privacy of our workers.
When staff make outbound calls, they will now share their individual number with customers if a call back is needed.
When customers call 1-855-MY-RIDHS, there are several self-service prompts they can utilize to access general DHS information and information specific to their benefits. The new Call Center technology, which went live October 22, offers clients a more streamlined experience over-the-phone where they can access their EBT balance, SNAP case status, request DHS forms, check appointment times, and hear office hours 24/7.
Customers can also connect with call center eligibility technicians during business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
