The Washington County Grand Jury reported out a secret indictment charging Matthew Johnson with four counts of first degree child molestation. It is alleged that on multiple occasions on or about dates between March 1, 2016 and November 17, 2017, Johnson molested two boys 14 years of age or under.
Johnson was arrested on a warrant by the North Kingstown Police Department and was arraigned in Washington County Superior Court on April 18, 2018. Johnson was released on $25,000 surety bail and was ordered to have no contact with the victims and prohibited from having unsupervised contact with any minors.
The North Kingstown Police Department conducted the investigation. Johnson is scheduled for a pre-trial conference in Washington County Superior Court on June 20, 2018.
