As Rhode Island's Secretary of State and Chief State Election official, I have attended multiple briefings by U.S. intelligence experts. I want to assure all Rhode Islanders that I take their confirmation of Russian interference in the 2016 elections very seriously.
We will continue to be vigilant in our assessment, improvement, and mitigation of risk to our elections systems by Russia or any foreign actors, as we prepare for the 2018 elections."
