AG Neronha implements online check-in system for in-person transactions at Cranston customer service center

New measure begins Monday, May 11

Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced today that the Office of Attorney General Customer Service Center is offering a new online check-in procedure for people who need to conduct in-person transactions, such as background checks. The online check-in system, which can only be used on site, will be implemented today, May 11, to help with maintaining necessary distance between customers and employees at the Office's customer service center, located at 4 Howard Avenue in Cranston.

***This is not an advanced reservation system. Online registration is on-site only and can only be used once a person arrives into the AG Customer Center parking lot.***

Visitors to the Office's customer service center are advised to follow the following instructions upon arrival into the parking lot:

(1) Begin check-in registration online by accessing https://connect.lrsus.com/ws/BCI. Checking in reserves your spot in a virtual line. The Customer Service Center is open weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

(2) Customer service center staff will notify you via text message when to come inside for your transaction. Please do not enter the lobby until you are notified.

(3) Individuals without access to the internet should call 401-274-4400 and select option 2 to make an appointment.

Since the state of emergency was declared in Rhode Island, the Office has prioritized background checks for healthcare providers, such as nurses and long-term care facility workers, first responders, and individuals requiring background checks for housing and employment. As we resume service to the general public, we ask that visitors please follow the advance registration procedures outlined above. Doing so will help us continue to serve the public in a safe and efficient manner consistent with the social distancing guidelines set forth in Governor Raimondo's Executive Orders.
