On June 5, 2025 at 1:20 PM, Troopers arrested Jose Velez, age 21, of 169 Duke Street, East Greenwich, Rhode Island for Domestic Violence - Violation of a No Contact Order. The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to the Division of Motor Vehicles where Capitol Police had the subject in custody. The subject was transported to the State Police Headquarters, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institute – Men's Intake Center pending arraignment at Third Division District Court where he will be presented as a bail violator.
