On July 24, 2025, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Sadio Sokona, age 32, of 109 Perry Street, Central Falls, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Unlawful Appropriation; and 2) Access to a Computer for Fraudulent Purposes. Mr. Sokona was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released on $10,000 Personal Recognizance.
On July 24, 2025, the Gaming Enforcement Unit arrested Elijah P. Jones, age 22, of 68 Laura Street, Floor 2, Providence, Rhode Island, for six (6) counts of Casino Cheating – Employee of a Gaming Facility Who Knowingly Fails to Collect, or Attempts to Fail to Collect, a Losing Wager or Pay, or Attempt to Pay, an Amount Greater On Any Wager Than Required Under the Rules of Casino Games. Mr. Jones was processed at the Wickford Barracks, arraigned in Second District Court in front of the Honorable Judge Houlihan and released on $3,000 Personal Recognizance Bail.
On July 24, 2025, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested James Tripp, age 38, of 333 Phenix Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) One (1) count of Indecent Solicitation of a Child; and 2) Four (4) counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor. Mr. Tripp was processed at State Police Headquarters and transported to Third District Court for arraignment. The Honorable Judge Caruolo set bail at $5,000 with surety along with limited internet access and no unsupervised contact with minors.
