On August 6, 2025, members of the Intelligence Unit, the Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Auto Theft Unit, and the Uniform Bureau arrested Adalberto Pagan Benejan, age 40, of 21 Marshall Street, 1st Floor, Providence, Rhode Island, for 1) Two (2) counts of Possession of a Firearm Prohibited - Person Convicted of a Crime of Violence; 2) Possession With Intent to Distribute 1oz - 1 kilo of a Schedule II Controlled Substance - Fentanyl; 3) Possession With Intent to Distribute 1oz - 1 kilo of a Schedule II Controlled Substance - Cocaine; 4) Two (2) counts of Possession of a Firearm While in Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance; and 5) Unlawful Possession of Body Armor. Mr. Benejan was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed and later turned over to officials at Sixth Division District Court for arraignment, where he was ordered held without bail.
On August 7, 2025, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Jorge A. Rodriguez, age 21, of 42 Pocasset Avenue - Apartment 1, Providence, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Providence Police Department for the following: 1) Felony Assault; 2) Conspiracy; and 3) Aiding and Abetting. Mr. Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Providence Police Department.
On August 7, 2025, the ACI Investigations Unit charged Jadan Monteiro, age 21, with last known address of 98 Chaplin Street, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, with the following: 1) Possession of Controlled Substance Less than 10 Grams. Mr. Monteiro was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he was presented as a Superior Court violator, granted $1,000 surety bail, and remanded to the ACI.
On August 7, 2025, the ACI Investigations Unit charged Marquise Mendes, age 24, with last known address of 16 Slater Street, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, with the following: 1) Possession of Controlled Substance Less than 10 Grams. Mr. Mendes was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he was presented as a Superior Court violator, granted $1,000 surety bail, and remanded to the ACI.
On August 7, 2025, members of the HIDTA Unit arrested Aaron Cabreja, age 31, of 98 Western Promenade Street, Cranston, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Possession with Intent to Deliver - Fentanyl - 1 oz to 1 kg; 2) Possession with Intent to Deliver - Schedule II - Fentanyl; 3) Possession with Intent to Deliver - Schedule II - Crack Cocaine; 4) Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons Prohibited; 5) Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Controlled Substance Violation; and 6) Distribution/Manufacture of a Controlled Substance Near a School Zone. Mr. Cabreja was transported to the Lincoln Barracks for processing and then turned over to Third District Court officials for arraignment.
On August 7, 2025, members of the HIDTA Unit arrested Joseph Rothermel, age 42, of 20 Jefferson Blvd, Warwick, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Possession with Intent to Deliver - Schedule I/II Controlled Substance - Fentanyl; 2) Possession with Intent to Deliver - Schedule I/II Controlled Substance - Crack Cocaine; and 3) Possession with Intent to Deliver - Schedule I/II Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine. Mr. Rothermel was transported to the Lincoln Barracks for processing and then turned over to Third District Court officials for arraignment.
On August 10, 2025, members arrested Aisha Wilson, age 34, of 70 Ocean Avenue, New Shoreham, Rhode Island, for Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of Duty. Ms. Wilson was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future Fourth District Court date.
On August 12, 2025, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Massachusetts Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and the Boston Police Department arrested D'Maury Monteiro, age 19, of 148 Fuller Street Apartment 2, Boston, Massachusetts, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Cranston Police Department for Homicide - Willful Kill - Gun. Mr. Monteiro was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Boston Police Department pending extradition to Rhode Island as a Fugitive from Justice.
On August 13, 2025, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Burrillville Police Department arrested Michael J. Lafleur, age 36, last known address of 402 Elm Street, Warwick, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Burrillville Police Department for the following: 1) Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Crime of Violence; 2) Carrying a Pistol without a License (2 counts); and 3) Large-Capacity Feeding Device (3 counts). Mr. LaFleur was taken into custody without incident and turned over to members of the Burrillville Police Department on scene.
On August 13, 2025, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Massachusetts Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section arrested Antonio Estrada, age 28, last known address of 200 Leonard Jenard Drive, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Central Falls Police Department for the following: 1) Domestic Felony Assault with a Dangerous Weapon; and 2) Domestic Disorderly Conduct. Mr. Estrada was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Massachusetts State Police Barracks pending extradition to Rhode Island as a Fugitive from Justice.
On August 14, 2025, members of the Gaming Enforcement Unit arrested Anh Duong, age 52, of 5 Joshua Valley Road, East Lyme, Connecticut, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for the following: 1) Embezzlement and Fraudulent Conversion (2 counts); 2) Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses; and 3) Fraudulent Checks. Ms. Duong was taken into custody without incident, processed at the Lincoln Barracks and arraigned in Third District Court.

Mr. Godinez was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and transported to Sixth District Court for arraignment.

Mr. Godinez was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and transported to Sixth District Court for arraignment.

Mr. Rogers was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he was presented as a Superior Court violator, granted $5,000 surety bail and remanded to the ACI.

On August 14, 2025, the ACI Investigations Unit charged Devin Barbosa, age 30, last known address of 33 Arlington Street, East Providence, Rhode Island, as a Fugitive from Justice from the State of Massachusetts. Mr. Barbosa was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he was remanded to the custody of the Sheriffs Department pending his return to Massachusetts.
