At 12:30 PM, Troopers arrested Goretti Janiero, age 51, of 58 Sherman Avenue, Lincoln, Rhode Island for 1.) Simple Assault and/or Battery, 2.) Resisting Legal or Illegal Arrest, and 3.) Disorderly Conduct. This arrest was a result of Troopers responding to an assault that occurred at 3rd District Court. Janeiro was transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions Women's Intake Center, where she was held without bail pending future arraignment.
At 8:32PM, Troopers arrested Bethany Anne Shirey, age 32, of 79 Union Drive, North Kingstown, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drug BAC Unknown – First Offense and 2.) Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 403, in the Town of North Kingstown. The subject was transported to the State Police – Wickford Barracks, where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future date in Third Division District Court.
At 9:18PM, Troopers arrested Thomas Dyer, age 64, of 29 Russell Avenue, Newport, Rhode Island for a Second Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License – 4th Offense originating out of the Portsmouth Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 138, in the City of Newport. The subject was transported to the State Police – Wickford Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released on surety with a future Second Division District Court date.
At 1:53AM, Troopers arrested Scott Gavitt, age 44, of 61 Sandro Drive, Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Kent County Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Presentment as a Violator on the original charge of Possession of a Schedule I to V Controlled Substance originating out of the Warwick Police Department and 2.) Kent County Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Presentment as a Violator on the original charge of Second-Degree Robbery originating out of the Cranston Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Cowesett Avenue, in the Town of West Warwick. The subject was transported to the State Police – Wickford Barracks, where he was processed and turned over to the ACI – Men's Intake Center.
