On Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 8:00 PM, Troopers arrested Israel Dyer, age 27, of 90 Girard Avenue, Newport, Rhode Island for 1.) Obstruction Officer in Execution of Duty, 2.) Resisting Arrest. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Wickford Barracks and the Newport Police Department subsequently locating the subject. Dyer was then transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a notice to appear in Second District Court.
