LOCATION: NORTH PROVIDENCE
On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m., members of the Intelligence Unit, North Providence Police Department, Adult Correctional Institution - Special Investigations Unit, and Uniform Bureau, arrested Yilmaz Kasapoglu, age 21, of 12 Wentworth Street, North Providence, Rhode Island, for 1) Receiving Stolen Goods, and 2) Manufacture, Sell, Purchase, or Possess a Ghost or 3D Gun. This arrest resulted from a joint investigation by the Intelligence Unit and the North Providence Police Department. Mr. Kasapoglu was taken into custody and transported to the North Providence Police Department, where he was processed and later arraigned at Third Division District Court. Mr. Kasapoglu was issued a felony screening date at Providence Superior Court, where the additional charges of Larceny - Over $1,500 and Vandalism will be presented.
LOCATION: PROVIDENCE
On September 3, 2026 at 4:30 AM, members of the HIDTA and VFTF Task Forces arrested Stephen Wehgbay, age 34, of 147 River Avenue, 1st Floor, Providence for 1) Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance - Cocaine and 2) Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance - MDMA. The arrest was the result of the execution of search warrants at the conclusion of a narcotics investigation. Mr. Wehgbay was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and transported to 6th District Court for arraignment.
