On October 23, 2026, at approximately 6:30 AM, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Jason Castillo Mieses, age 27, of 358 Webster Ave, Cranston, Rhode Island, for Possession of Child Pornography. Mr. Mieses was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks, processed, and transported to Third Division District Court. Mr. Mieses was arraigned before the Honorable Magistrate Joseph P. Ippolito where bail was set at $10,000 personal recognizance, with the special conditions of limited internet access and no contact with minors.
On October 23, 2026, at approximately 1:30 PM, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested William Scherer, age 63, of 2107 Jefferson Place, Bellingham, Massachusetts, for Indecent Solicitation of a Child. Mr. Scherer was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace then released pending a future court date.
