Department of Administration Hires New Controller

Marc Leonetti Named

Department of Administration today announced the hiring of a State Controller in the Department of Administration to replace the retiring incumbent. Marc A. Leonetti, of Cumberland, was named to the position after serving as chief financial officer in the Department of Transportation.

“Mr. Leonetti brings a superior background in finance and accounting to the broad spectrum of financial elements in the Department of Administration,” said Director Jerome Williams. “He has achieved significant accomplishments during his career and his addition to our staff will benefit the department and the State.”

The new controller has been introduced to fellow staff members and will formally begin work on June 23rd. The salary for the position is $105,000 annually.

Mr. Leonetti replaces longtime controller Lawrence Franklin, who is retiring in June “I want to thank Mr. Franklin for his dedicated efforts as State Controller over the last 22 years” Director Williams stated. “Among his many achievements, Mr. Franklin has streamlined financial operations, introduced new technologies, eliminated significant audit findings and reduced the time to complete the State’s financial audit.”
