Press event to be held in the treasurer's office, suite 102, the State House

PROVIDENCE 2/5/2009 - General Treasurer Frank T. Caprio invites the media to a press conference on Monday, February 9th at 2 PM in the Office of the General Treasurer, the State House, Providence.

Treasurer Caprio will unveil a first in Rhode Island state government, the first online, real-time searchable website of state spending.

The Office of the General Treasurer's new website, Treasury Online Checkbook, will become the model for state and local government in their efforts to be more accessible and accountable to the taxpayers of Rhode Island.

Treasurer Caprio will be joined at the press conference by key members of the community who have long advocated for transparency in state government.
