Ethics Commission Meeting March 10, 2009
At the 3rd meeting of the Commission in 2009, the Commission issued the following advisory opinions:
A.O. 2009-14 to Gregory S. Dias, Esq., a former Assistant Solicitor for the City of East Providence,opining that he may represent individuals charged by the East Providence Police Department before the Rhode Island District Court and individuals charged before the East Providence Municipal Court within the one year period following his severance from office.
A.O. 2009-15 Michael D. Cassidy, Director of the City of Pawtucket Department of Planning and Redevelopment, opining that the Department of Planning and Redevelopment is not prohibited by the Code of Ethics from soliciting donations for the Pawtucket City Arts Festival from vendors who do business with the City of Pawtucket.
Discussion was had of Jason E. Ferrell v. Frank Caprio, Jr., et al., U.S. District Court C.A. No.08-378S, and William V. Irons v. The Rhode Island Ethics Commission, No. 2008-335-M.P. and 2009-01-M.P.
