Dana Gallop, DOB: 10/22/84 283 Dudley Street Roxbury, MA P1/2009-1896AG
The Providence County Grand Jury handed up an indictment today naming Dana Gallop on one count of murder, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of carrying a weapon while committing a crime of violence, one count of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence, one count of carrying a firearm without a license, and one count of possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a crime of violence.
It is alleged that on or about December 14, 2008, Gallop murdered Anthony Parrish. It is alleged that on or about that same date, Gallop assaulted a victim with a dangerous weapon, to wit, a firearm, and that he committed a crime of violence, to wit, murder, when armed with or having available a firearm. It is alleged that on or about December 14, 2008, the defendant committed a crime of violence, to wit, murder, while using a firearm, with the death of Anthony Parrish resulting. It is alleged that on or about that same date, Gallop carried a firearm without a license and that he carried a firearm after having been previously convicted in the State of Massachusetts of a crime of violence, to wit, possession to distribute Marijuana.
All of the alleged incidents occurred in Providence. Providence Police conducted the investigation. The Providence County Superior Court today issued a warrant for Gallop’s arrest. He is currently incarcerated at the Suffolk County House of Corrections in Massachusetts where he is serving a 60-day sentence. Upon conclusion of serving that sentence, Gallop, who has waived extradition, will be brought to Rhode Island for arraignment.
