The Statewide Grand Jury handed up an indictment yesterday, June 22, naming Albino Folcarelli and Jose Sousa each on one count of conspiracy to obtain money over $500 under false pretenses. Albino Folcarelli is additionally named on one count of attempting to obtain money over $500 under false pretenses. It is alleged that between the dates of August 1, 2008 and October 27, 2008, Folcarelli and Sousa conspired to do an unlawful act, to wit, obtain money under false pretenses over $500. It is alleged that between those same dates, Folcarelli attempted to obtain money over $500 by false pretenses. The alleged incidents took place in Providence. Rhode Island State Police conducted the investigation. The defendants will be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on July 15, 2009.
