The Governor’s Office of Economic Recovery and Reinvestment today launched a section on the website (www.recovery.ri.gov) that provides links to all competitive federal grant opportunities. The website lists competitive grant opportunities by agency, including transportation, education, agriculture, housing, energy, homeland security and many others. The list will continue to be updated as information is made available by the federal government.
“There are billions in federal funds available through competitive grants,” said Governor Donald L. Carcieri. “The amount of information on each and every grant opportunity can be overwhelming. This section on www.recovery.ri.gov is designed to provide the information in an easy to read format. I encourage interested parties to monitor this section daily, as more and more information is coming from the federal government each day.”
Visitors to the site can search for ARRA grants by federal agency or browse all of the ARRA funding opportunities at once. Click on an agency button to display a list of ARRA programs or grants opportunities issued by that department, or click “List All Opportunities” to display a list of all available ARRA programs and grant opportunities.
The following information is displayed for each opportunity:
Name of the federal agency issuing funding opportunity Name of the program Who is eligible to apply for funding Total amount of federal funds available for that program Deadline for submitting an application, if available
Visitors should click on the name of the program for a more detailed description and a link to the full guidance, which includes instructions on the application procedure. In the near future, visitors will have the option to search by eligible entity, bringing up only those opportunities for which they are eligible to apply for. The State of Rhode Island is not responsible for competitive grant applications or approvals. Interested parties are responsible to submit and track grant proposals. These are grant opportunities offered by the federal government; any questions regarding these opportunities should be directed to the appropriate federal agency.
