Lt. Gov. Roberts, Major General Bray Remind Rhode Islanders: Operation Holiday Cheer Drop Off This Saturday

Roberts and Major General Bray encourage Rhode Islanders to support our troops overseas and drop off donations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday

PROVIDENCE—Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts and Major General Robert T. Bray, commanding general of the Rhode Island National Guard want to remind Rhode Islanders to drop off their donations for Operation Holiday Cheer this Saturday, November 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Main Street Armory located at 1051 North Main Street in Providence. The program sends care packages to all Rhode Island troops stationed overseas during the holiday months. Lt. Gov. Roberts and Major General Bray will be available to the media at 10 a.m. The “wish list” of requested donations is attached.

Members of the public dropping off goods should turn right onto Stenton Ave. They will be directed to a drop off location and will continue on to take a right on Camp St. and another right onto Edgehill Road. They will then be facing North Main St.

Operation Holiday Cheer is made possible through the generous corporate and community support of sponsors including: AAA of Southern New England, the American Red Cross Rhode Island Chapter, American Speedy Printing, Amica Insurance, Autocrat Coffee, Bank of America, Banneker Industries, the Boston Celtics, CVS Caremark, Dunkin' Donuts, Hasbro, Home Depot, the New England Patriots, National Grid, Ocean State Job Lot, the Providence Journal and the United States Postal Service.
