Rhode Island Donation Exchange Program Requests Household Needs for Flood Victims

Due to the devastation occurred by a large number of Rhode Island residents by the recent severe storms and floods, the RI Donation Exchange Program, a 501 (c) 3, operated as the only "furniture bank" in the State serving RI residents, is in need of donations of new and gently used furniture, clothing, linens, working household appliances and furnishings to assist the many flood victims. The items will assist families in rebuilding their lives and homes.

Victims of the severe storms and floods, who are in need of such household items, should also contact the RI Donation Exchange.

All items can be picked up by the RI Donation Exchange free of charge, and donations are tax deductible. Please contact Mary Landreville, Executive Director at 401-831-5516 to schedule a pickup or send cash donations to RIDEP at 20 River Avenue Providence RI 02908.

All Rhode Islanders who have experienced damages due to the severe storms and flooding should register claims with FEMA by visiting www.FEMA.gov or calling 1-800-621-FEMA (TTY 1-800-462-7585). For a complete list of available state and federal resources and for helpful information on how to recover from the severe storms and floods, please visit www.floodrecovery.ri.gov.
