Interim Report of the Washington County Grand Jury (Reported April 8, 2011)

Douglas Lafountain, DOB: 1/5/73 137 Williard Avenue South Kingstown, RI W1/2011-0119A

On Friday, April 8, 2011, the Washington County Grand Jury handed up an indictment charging Douglas Lafountain with one count of first degree child molestation, two counts of second degree child molestation, and two counts of simple assault. It is alleged that on or about the dates May 1, 2009 and May 5, 209, Lafountain engaged in sexual contact and sexual penetration with a person under 14 years of age. It is also alleged that or about the dates April 5, 2009 and April 11, 2009, and again between May 1, 2009 and May 5, 2009, Lafountain did commit assault and battery on an individual. The alleged events took place in South Kingstown. The South Kingstown Police conducted the investigation.

LaFountain was arraigned in Washington County Superior Court before Justice William E. Carnes, Jr., on Monday, April 11, 2011. He is currently being held without bail. A bail hearing is scheduled for April 18, 2011
