Final Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported July 8, 2011)

Evan Perez, DOB: 12/23/90 71 Field Street Providence, RI P1/11-2024AG

Karany Chhay, DOB: 10/22/91 412 Potters Ave. Providence, RI P/11-2024BG

The Providence County Grand Jury handed up an indictment charging Evan Perez and Karany Chhay with multiple counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, burglary, robbery, firearm charges, and conspiracy.

It is alleged that on or about April 21, 2011, Perez and Chhay burglarized a dwelling and assaulted the residents with an unlicensed firearm. It is further alleged that Perez and Chhay also assaulted three other individuals who were in the residence with an unlicensed firearm.

The alleged events took place in Cranston and the Cranston Police conducted the investigation. Perez and Chhay are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on July 15, 2011. They are both currently being held without bail.

Edwin Gonzalez, DOB: 5/9/79 80 Oak Street Woonsocket, RI P1/11-2025A

The Providence County Grand Jury handed up an indictment charging Edwin Gonzalez with one count of first degree robbery. It is alleged that on or about July 27, 2010, Gonzalez robbed an individual, with the robbery being in the first degree.

The alleged incident took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Gonzalez is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on July 27, 2011.

Junior Gonzalez, DOB: 10/13/90 50 Fletcher Street Central Falls, RI P1/11-2026A

The Providence County Grand Jury handed up an indictment today charging Junior Gonzalez with two counts of first degree child molestation, one count of second degree child molestation, and one count of burglary.

It is alleged that on or about February 14, 2011, Gonzalez molested an individual fourteen years of age or younger, with the molestation being in the first and second degree. It is also alleged that on or about the same date, Gonzlaez burglarized a residence.

The alleged incidents took place in Pawtucket and the Pawtucket Police conducted the investigation. Gonzalez is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on July 27, 2011.
