Final Report of the Providence County Superior Court Grand Jury (Reported September 2, 2011)

Abdoulie Njie, DOB 2/15/77 62 South Street, Apt. 2 Woonsocket, RI P1/11-2540A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out today an indictment charging Abdoulie Njie with two counts of first degree sexual assault, one count of second degree sexual assault and one count of intimidation of a witness.

It is alleged that on or about July 10, 2011, Njie sexually assaulted an individual, with the assault being in the first and second degree. It is also alleged that between on or about the dates between July 10, 2011 and July 25, 2011 Njie knowingly communicated with a witness with the intent of intimidating that witness.

The alleged events took place in Woonsocket and the Woonsocket Police conducted the investigation. Njie scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on September 7, 2011. He is currently being held without bail.

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out today indictments in the May 9, 2011 murder of 17-year old Tiphany Tallo in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Providence.

Leron Porter was indicted on one count of murder, one count of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence, five counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm having been previously convicted of a crime of violence.

Renee Porter, the matriarch of the Porter family, Dennissa Porter, Breona Porter, Jaelynn Porter, Reanel Cassell and Yelica DeJesus were all indicted on four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon.

It is alleged that on or about May 9, 2011, five members of the Porter family, two associates and an unindicted but identified juvenile co-conspirator drove to Spruce Street in Providence and assaulted Ashley Tallo. It is further alleged that in the confrontation, Leron Porter shot and killed Tiphany Tallo and assaulted her mother, Wendy Tallo with the firearm.

The Providence Police conducted the investigation. All are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on September 9, 2011 before Superior Court Justice Robert D. Krause.

Leron Porter is currently held without bail at the ACI. Renee Porter is currently held without bail on an unrelated robbery charge. Dennissa Porter is serving two years at the ACI as a probation violator. Breona Porter was released in May on $20,000 bail with surety. Jaelynn Porter is serving 60 days at the ACI as a bail violator. Yelica DeJesus is serving a six month sentence as a probation violator.

Sylvia Tellado, DOB: 8/31/70 313 4th Street Union City, NJ P1/11-2542A

The Providence County Grand reported out today an indictment charging Sylvia Tellado with three counts of first degree child molestation and three count of second degree child molestation.

It is alleged that on or about days and dates between June 1, 2006 and August 31, 2006, Tellado sexually assaulted an individual fourteen years of age or younger on multiple occasions, with the assault being in the first and second degree.

The alleged incidents took place in Central Falls and the Central Falls Police conducted the investigation. Tellado is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on September 21, 2011. She was arrested in May and is currently being held without bail at the ACI.

Marvin Root, DOB: 6/12/90 64 Alverson Avenue Providence, RI P1/11-2543AG

The Providence County Grand reported out today an indictment today charging Marvin Root with one count of first degree robbery, four counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of use of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, one count of possession of a sawed-off shotgun and one count of resisting arrest.

It is alleged that on or about May 18, 2011, Root and an unindicted, unnamed co-conspirator broke into a home where they assaulted and robbed two individuals. Additionally, it is alleged that on or about July 11, 2011, Root used force in resisting arrest.

The alleged incidents took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Root is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on September 13, 2011 before Superior Court Justice Robert D. Krause. He is currently held without bail at the ACI.
