Coventry Man Found Guilty of Child Molestation

Attorney General Peter Kilmartin announced that Adam Lake (DOB: 9/17/81), with a last known address of 6 Whittier Drive, Coventry, was found guilty earlier this week by a Providence County Superior Court jury on two counts of first degree child molestation. The six day trial was presided over by Superior Court Associate Justice Savage. Lake has been held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institution since his arrest in July, 2009.

During the trial, the State proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Lake molested his 11-year old stepdaughter on multiple occasions in 2008 and 2009. The victim reported the molestation to a family member who in turn reported it to the Providence Police.

Special Assistant Attorney General and Chief of the Child Abuse Unit Shannon Signore prosecuted the case on behalf of the Office of the Attorney General. Detective Rotella led the investigation for the Providence Police Department.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 19th 2012.
