At 9:00 AM Troopers arrested Jamie A. Betters, age 23, of 123 Suffolk Avenue, RI for 1). Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident, 2). Driving Without a License. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Branch Avenue at Route 146 after a BOLO was put out for a hit and run motor vehicle accident on Route 95 South at Exit 24 in the City of Providence. Betters was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing and later arraigned at 6th District Court.
At approximately 11:00 am Troopers arrested Josimar Pereira, age 25, of 45 Brown Street Pawtucket RI for 1.) Obtaining money under false pretenses over $500.00 (3 counts), 2.) Passing of counterfeit certificate/bill/note (3 counts). This arrest was the result of a Barracks investigation. Pereira is currently incarcerated at the Adult Correctional Institutional Institution and was transported to Sixth District Court where he was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Ippolitto.
At approximately 12:10 AM, Troopers arrested Jesus A. Diaz, age 20, of 28 Carousel Drive, East Providence, RI on a Sixth Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on an original charge of Possession of Marijuana-1st Offense originating out of Barrington Police Department. The arrest was the result of Troopers investigating suspicious activity in the Walgreen's parking lot on North Main Street in the City of Providence. Diaz was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was processed and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution.
