Colonel Steven G. O'Donnell, Superintendent, of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of the Department Of Public Safety, announced the promotion of two (2) sworn members of the Rhode Island Division of Sheriffs to Command Staff positions. These promotions will take effect on July 29, 2012. The following are the promotees:
To the rank of Captain: Captain Raymond C. Moore, Sr.
Captain Raymond C. Moore, Sr. is a twenty-three (23) year veteran of the Rhode Island Division of Sheriffs and the former Rhode Island State Marshals. Captain Moore served as a Sergeant with the Rhode Island State Marshals, having been sworn in as a Deputy Marshal in January of 1989. He has been assigned to the Licht and Noel Judicial Complexes during his tenure. He was promoted to the rank of Deputy Sheriff Lieutenant in December of 2003, ultimately serving as the Officer-in-Charge of the Noel Judicial Complex.
Captain Moore holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Bryant University and is a 1989 graduate of the Rhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy. Captain Moore served as a member of the 143rd Security Forces Squadron, Rhode Island Air National Guard, from 1983 through 2004. Captain Moore served as a First Sergeant before retiring from the Air National Guard at the rank of Master Sergeant.
Captain Moore resides in southern Rhode Island with his wife and two children.
To the Rank of Captain: Captain Jason D. Allaire
Captain Jason D. Allaire is an eighteen (18) year veteran of the Rhode Island Division of Sheriffs and the former Rhode Island State Marshals. Captain Allaire served as a Sergeant with the former Rhode Island State Marshals, having been sworn in as a Deputy Marshal in July of 1994. Captain Allaire has served in both the Interstate Extradition Unit and the Transportation Unit. He has also served as the Officer-in-Charge of the Licht and Garrahy Judicial Complexes. He was promoted to the rank of Deputy Sheriff Lieutenant in April of 2006.
Captain Allaire is a 1995 graduate of the Rhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy. Captain Allaire served on the Sheriff's Training Academy Staff in 2006 and 2009. He is currently a firearms instructor for the Rhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy.
Captain Allaire resides in northern Rhode Island with his wife and two children.
