On August 30, 2012, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Jason Mitchner, age 38, of 240 Armstrong Ave, Warwick, RI, on a Federal ATF indictment for the following offenses: 1) Felon in Possession of Firearms and Ammunition; and 2) Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine within a thousand feet of a school. Mitchner was turned over to Federal authorities.
On August 30, 2012, Detectives assigned to the ACI charged inmate Justin Prout, age 30, having a last known address of 148 Washington Street, Central Falls, Rhode Island, with the following: 1) Felony Assault-Dangerous Weapon; and 2) Assault of a Correctional Officer. Inmate Prout was presented before the Honorable Judge Woodcock-Pfeiffer in Third Division District Court on the aforementioned charges. Judge Woodcock-Pfeiffer set bail at $20,000 personal recognizance and scheduled a pre-arraignment conference for November 1, 2012. Inmate Prout was also presented as a Superior Court probation violator and was subsequently remanded to the Adult Correctional Institutions to continue serving his controlling sentence for Robbery and three consecutive sentences of Simple assault, Assault by inmate and Escape.
On August 30, 2012, Detectives assigned to the ACI charged inmate Richard A. Soares, age 22, having a last known address of 31 Apache Drive, Westerly, Rhode Island, with two (2) counts of Assault with Bodily Fluids/While Incarcerated. Inmate Soares was presented before the Honorable Judge Woodcock-Pfeiffer in Third Division District Court on the aforementioned charges. Judge Woodcock-Pfeiffer set bail at $20,000 personal recognizance and scheduled a pre-arraignment conference for November 1, 2012. Inmate Soares was also presented as a Superior Court probation violator and was subsequently remanded to the Adult Correctional Institutions to continue serving his controlling sentence for Felony Assault.
On August 30, 2012, Detectives assigned to the ACI charged inmate Douglas C. Gallucci, age 54, having a last known of 127 Vermont Street, Cranston, Rhode Island, with Violation of a No Contact Order-3rd Offense. Inmate Gallucci was presented before the Honorable Judge Woodcock-Pfeiffer in Third Division District Court on the aforementioned charge. Judge Woodcock-Pfeiffer set bail at $5,000 personal recognizance and scheduled a pre-arraignment conference for November 1, 2012. Additionally, another No Contact Order was issued, barring the defendant from having contact with the victim. Inmate Gallucci was also presented as a Superior Court probation violator and was subsequently remanded to the Adult Correctional Institutions to await trial on three (3) previous charges of Violation of a No Contact Order.
On August 30, 2012, Detectives assigned to the ACI charged Juan Ranero, age 18, having a last known address of 183 Clarence Street, Providence, Rhode Island, with Juvenile Escape-(over 18 yoa). Mr. Ranero was presented before the Honorable Judge Woodcock-Pfeiffer in Third Division District Court for the following: 1) Juvenile Escape; and 2) Third District Court Bench Warrant For Failure to Appear on an original charge of Shoplifting originating from the Warwick Police Department. Judge Woodcock-Pfeiffer set bail at $10,000 personal recognizance on the Juvenile Escape charge and scheduled a pre-arraignment conference for November 1, 2012. Mr. Ranero was remanded to the Rhode Island Training School to continue serving his controlling sentence for 1st Degree Robbery and Conspiracy.
On August 30, 2012, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested America Minaya, age 22, of 10 Norwich Avenue, Providence, RI, as a Fugitive from Justice out of Albany New York on the charge of Sex Trafficking. Minaya was transported to the State Police Lincoln Barracks where she was processed and later arraigned before a Justice of the Peace. Minaya will be formally arraigned in Sixth District Court.
