National Weather Service Issues Weather Advisories for State

High Wind Warning • National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a high wind warning from 0600 Monday to 0600 Tuesday for all of Rhode Island. • Winds of 35 – 45 mph with gusts of up to 70 mph are expected with the strongest winds predicted for Monday. • Results of high wind can include widespread power outages from downed trees and power lines. Coastal Flood Warning • NWS has issued a coastal flood warning from 0600 Monday to 1300 Tuesday for all of Rhode Island. • Wind gusts and storm surges of 3' to 6' could result in minor to moderate flooding inland and major flooding along Narragansett Bay and southern Rhode Island. • Time period of greatest concern is high tide Monday evening.
