At 11:40 AM Troopers arrested Julio Calderon, age 26, of 229 Hartford Avenue, Providence for 1) Reckless Driving 2) Driving Without a License, and 3) 6th District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Ability to Pay on the original charges of Driving Without a License originating out of the Providence Police Department. The arrest was the result of Troopers obtaining a radar speed of 95 MPH in a posted 50 MPH zone on Rt. 6 East in the City of Providence and observing the operator changing lanes at high rates of speed without signaling and finally striking a stop sign at the end of the Rt. 6 east ramp to Hartford Avenue in the City of Providence. Calderon was transported to Rhode Island State Police Headquarters where he was processed and then turned over to 6th District Court for arraignment.
At 6:42 PM, Troopers arrested Bobby DeBarros, age 35, of 195 Tennyson Road, Warwick, RI, for 1) Simple Assault and Battery 2) Violation of a No Contact Order. The arrest was the result of a 911 call on Sunday, 02/17/13, regarding an alleged assault that took place on Route 295 North, in the Town of Johnston, and a subsequent barracks investigation. DeBarros responded to State Police Headquarters on Monday February 18 and was taken into custody on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for the above charges. DeBarros was processed and held overnight pending a morning arraignment at 3rd District Court.
At 6:48 PM, Troopers arrested Calnisha Scurry, age 19, of 45 Salmon Street Apartment 202, Providence, RI for a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on the original charge of Driving After Suspension of License out of State Police Chepachet Barracks. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Manton Avenue in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released after posting cash bail.
