State Arts Council Announces Closing Event at 2013 Fellowship Show on Saturday, March 9, 2013

The State Arts Council announced today that the Closing Reception and Artist Talk for the 9th Annual Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) Fellowship Exhibition will be held on Saturday, March 9th from 1:00pm to 4:00 pm at the Jamestown Arts Center, located at 18 Valley Street in Jamestown, RI. This event provides an opportunity for the public to see the work of the 2013 RISCA Fellowship award recipients and hear the artists talk about their work.

Participating artists include Michelle Benoit, Nick Carter, Jill Colinan, Ann Fessler, Heidi Henderson, Leslie Hirst, Ernest Jolicoeur, Aaron Jungels, Brian Knoth, Jay Lacouture, Glenda Luck, Andrew Oesch, Frank Poor, Kathleen Gordon Smith, and Jesse Thompson.

The RISCA Fellowship Exhibition is an annual event that showcases the works of Rhode Island artists who have been awarded by the state for artistic excellence in their discipline. Fellowship Winners receive a $5000 award and Fellowship Merit Award Winners receive a $1000 award. Artwork by each of these artists was included in the 2013 Fellowship Exhibition.

This event is free and open to the public.
