The Statewide Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Joseph Perryman with one count of murder. It is alleged that on or about December 5, 2012, Perryman stabbed and murdered Anthony Simmons.
The alleged murder took place in Newport and the Newport Police conducted the investigation. Perryman, who has been held without bail since his arrest on December 6, 2012, is scheduled to be arraigned in Newport County Superior Court on April 2, 2013.
