Beaches Open For Swimming

HEALTH officials recommended re-opening Barrington Town Beach, North Kingstown Town Beach, and Narragansett Town Beach for swimming. This recommendation is based on results from water samples that show bacteria levels within acceptable limits. HEALTH will continue to monitor the water quality regularly to assure safe bathing throughout the summer season.

The following licensed beaches remain closed to swimming due to high bacteria counts: Conimicut Point Beach, Oakland Beach, City Park Beach, Goddard Memorial State Park Beach, and Fort Adams State Park. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the areas are safe for swimming. Water quality analysis is conducted by the HEALTH laboratory or a state certified laboratory.

PLEASE NOTE: BEACH STATUS MAY CHANGE ON A DAILY BASIS. For up to date information about swimming at Rhode Island beaches call (401) 222-2751.
