Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported April 16, 2014)

Kongvannark Maloney, DOB: 1/18/91 21 Benedict Street Providence, RI P1-2014-1103BG

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Felix Olivares and Kongvannark Maloney each with murder, conspiracy, and discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence. In addition, Olivares was indicted for possession of a firearm without a license.

It is alleged that on or about August 9, 2013, Olivares and Maloney shot and killed 20-year old Johenllys Gabriel Espinal near the Wiggins Village housing complex on Westminster Street in Providence.

Olivares was arrested in Brooklyn on April 3, 2014 on a Providence warrant by members of the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force. He is currently being held in New York pending extradition back to Rhode Island. A warrant has been issued for Maloney.
