RIEMA's 2014 Hurricane and Preparedness Conference
The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) will be hosting its annual Hurricane & Preparedness Conference on June 20th from 8AM – 4PM at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick, RI. The theme of this year's conference is "Building Resiliency Through Awareness", which highlights ways to foster awareness through disaster planning, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts.
The conference is designed for local municipalities, state and federal agencies, private owned businesses, and non-government organizations with emergency management responsibilities. There will be several speakers from various organizations such as the National Hurricane Center, the National Weather Service, FM Global, the University of Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, RIEMA, and the Providence Emergency Management Agency.
