Traffic Advisory: Interstate Lane Closures Planned for Next Week

The following exit and lane closures are scheduled to take place on Rhode Island's interstate highways from August 9-15, 2014. All schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. Follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/RIDOTNews for up-to-the-minute travel information.

Interstate Highway Restrictions

Overnight & Weekend

Warwick/Cranston: I-95 North, between Exit 15 (Jefferson Blvd.) and Exit 16 (Rte. 10), left three lanes closed for maintenance work, Friday, August 8 from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, August 9. Lane restrictions will begin at 9 p.m., with all three lanes closed by 11 p.m. Shoulder use will be permitted. Two lanes of travel will be maintained at all times.

Ramp Closures

Providence: I-95 North at Exit 22 (Downtown/Rte.6), access to Rte. 6 West closed due to construction, early Wednesday morning from 12-5 a.m. Follow signed detour.

Providence: The on-ramp to I-95 South from Memorial Blvd. will be closed due to construction Tuesday night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Follow signed detour.

Overnight

Warwick to Cumberland: Expect alternating lane closures in a moving operation for striping on I-295 North and South, from I-95 in Warwick to the Massachusetts state line in Cumberland, including ramps, Sunday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.

Weekday

Cranston: I-295 South, from Exit 4 (Rte. 14) to Exit 3 (Rte. 37), left lane closed for bridge work, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
