Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported October 2, 2014)

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Kenneth Lovett, Jr. and Joseph Figueroa each with two counts of conspiracy, three counts of first degree robbery, three counts of possession of a firearm while committing a crime of violence and one count of possessing a firearm without a license. Additionally, Lovett was charged with one count of possession of a firearm after being convicted of a crime of violence.

It is alleged that on or about September 16, 2013, Lovett and Figueroa conspired to and did rob an individual using a firearm they were not licensed to carry. It is further alleged that on or about September 27, 2013, Lovett and Figueroa robbed two individuals.

The alleged incidents took place in Providence and Cranston, and the Providence and Cranston Police conducted the investigation. Lovett and Figueroa are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause on October 9, 2014.

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Jose Quiles, Isael Rodriguez and Julian Rivera each with two counts of first degree robbery, conspiracy, possession of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, possession of a firearm without a license and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.

It is alleged that one or about July 8, 2014, Quiles, Rodriguez and Rivera, using an unlicensed firearm, assaulted three individuals and robbed two of them.

The alleged events took place in Central Falls and the Central Falls Police conducted the investigation. Quiles, Rodriguez and Rivera are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause on October 9, 2014.

Alberto Pablo Mejia, age 18

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Alberto Pablo Mejia with one count of first degree child molestation.

It is alleged that on or about August 21, 2014, Mejia sexually molested a child fourteen years of age or younger, with the molestation being in the first degree.

The alleged incident took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Mejia is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on October 22, 2014

Shane Dumais, age 32

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Shane Dumais with one count of driving while intoxicated, serious bodily injury resulting, and one count of driving to endanger, serious bodily injury resulting.

It is alleged that on or about April 27, 2014, Dumais operated a vehicle while intoxicated and in reckless disregard for others, causing serious bodily injury to Zachary Dumais.

The alleged incident took place in Burrillville and the Burrillville Police conducted the investigation. Dumais is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on October 22, 2014.
