RIDOT to Temporarily Restrict Travel on Railroad Street in Lincoln for Repairs

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) will temporarily install a single-lane alternating traffic pattern on Railroad Street in Lincoln, between Division Street and Winter Street, beginning on Thursday afternoon. Motorists will encounter stop signs in each direction, and need to yield and wait for oncoming traffic to clear before proceeding.

This new traffic pattern is needed in advance of repairs scheduled to take place next week on a section of the road surrounding a nearby drainage structure. Once this work begins, the road will be closed to traffic in both directions. Motorists are advised to detour using Main Street and Old River Road. Local access to all properties will be maintained. A detour map is available online at www.dot.ri.gov/detourmaps.

The closure is expected to begin Monday and be in place for approximately one week. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
