Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Dari Garcia and Viclei Hernandez with murder, multiple counts of assault, burglary and weapons charges.

Garcia is charged with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling, burglary, three counts of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence, possession of a firearm without a license, altering the serial number of a firearm, use of a firearm with committing a crime of violence, possession of a firearm having been previously convicted of a crime of violence and possession of a stolen firearm.

Hernandez is charged with murder, three counts of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence, conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary, four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, and use of a firearm while committing a crime of violence.

It is alleged that on or about August 17, 2014 Garcia and Hernandez conspired to rob Richard Catalano in his North Providence home. It is further alleged that on or about the same day, Garcia broke into the residence of Richard Catalano. During the burglary, it is alleged that Garcia shot and killed Richard Catalano, and assaulted Lorie Catalano and Christopher Tamelleo.

The North Providence Police conducted the investigation. Garcia and Hernandez are both scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause on February 20, 2015.

Derek DeCosta, age 33 160 Broad Street Providence, RI P1-2015-0395A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Derek DeCosta with one count of first degree robbery. It is alleged that on or about August 1, 2014, DeCosta robbed an individual, with the robbery being in the first degree. The alleged incident took place in Providence. The Providence Police conducted the investigation. DeCosta is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on March 4, 2015.

Antonio Cruz, age 77 100 Atwells Avenue Providence, RI P1-2015-0396A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Antonio Cruz with three counts of first degree child molestation and one count of second degree child molestation. It is alleged that on or about dates between August 1, 2001 and August 30, 2003, Cruz molested a female 14 years of age or under. The alleged incidents took place in Providence. The Providence Police conducted the investigation. Cruz is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on March 4, 2015.

Thomas Fallah, age 28 17 Holloway Johnston, RI P1-2015-0397A

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Thomas Fallah with one count of first degree robbery. It is alleged that on or about August 29, 2014, Fallah robbed an individual with the robbery being in the first degree. The alleged incident took place in Cranston and the Cranston Police conducted the investigation. Fallah is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on March 4, 2015.

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Joseph Castro, Shuvah Harris, Quincy Munoz, and Shaquille Maine each with one count of first degree robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. It is alleged that on a date between November 21, 2014 and November 22, 2104, Castro, Harris, Munoz, and Maine conspired to commit robbery and did in fact rob an individual.

The alleged incident took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. All four are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on March 4, 2015.
