The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Michael McCarthy with larceny of a firearm, receiving stolen goods, larceny over $1,500 and embezzlement.
It is alleged that McCarthy, a Providence Police officer, stole several items from the Providence Police property room to which he was assigned, including a firearm, a diamond ring, cash, and other items.
The Providence Police conducted the investigation. McCarthy is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause on March 6, 2015.
Reginald Chaney, age 19 15 Maxfield Ave. East Providence, RI P1-2015-0605A
The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Reginald Chaney with first degree robbery and conspiracy. It is alleged that on or about May 6, 2014, Chaney conspired with unnamed juveniles to commit robbery and did commit first degree robbery.
The alleged events took place in East Providence. The East Providence Police conducted the investigation. Chaney is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on March 18, 2015.
