Final Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported April 10, 2015)

Jodi Johnson, age 43

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Jodi Johnson with first degree robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling, conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

It is alleged that on or about January 28, 2014, Johnson conspired with an unnamed juvenile and an unknown co-conspirator and robbed an individual. It is further alleged that Johnson assaulted the individual with a dangerous weapon, to wit a firearm.

The alleged events took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Johnson is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on April 29, 2015.

Derek Cosme, age 29

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Derek Cosme with first degree robbery and resisting arrest.

It is alleged that on or about January 25, 2015, Cosme robbed an individual. It is further alleged that Cosme used force in resisting arrest.

The alleged events took place in Central Falls, and the Central Falls Police conducted the investigation. Cosme is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on April 29, 2015.

Juan Ranero, age 21

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Juan Ranero with murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license, discharge of a firearm from a motor vehicle and conspiracy, as well as two counts of discharge of a firearm while in the commission of a crime of violence.

It is alleged that on or about May 14, 2014, Ranero was the operator of a motor vehicle involved in a drive-by shooting that killed 20-year-old Davon Taylor and injured 15-year-old Destiny Taylor.

On March 31, 2015, Joseph "JoJo" Taylor pleaded guilty to being the shooter in the incident.

The alleged incidents took place in Providence and the Providence Police conducted the investigation. Ranero is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court before Justice Robert D. Krause on April 15, 2015.
