PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Governor Gina M. Raimondo today announced her intent to nominate Stephanie Ogidan Preston and Princess Bomba to serve on the Rhode Island Public Transportation Authority (RIPTA). Raimondo will submit their names for consideration to the Rhode Island State Senate for confirmation.
"A robust public transport system is key to growing our economy,"said Governor Raimondo. "As someone who knows the benefits of public transportation, I appreciate the importance of RIPTA. I look forward to seeing all that Stephanie and Princess will accomplish as part of this board."
"I also want to thank Peter Ginaitt and Jerry Williams for their dedicated commitment to RIPTA and great work on behalf of our state," added Raimondo.
"I am honored to have been appointed to the RIPTA board by Governor Raimondo," said Stephanie Ogidan Preston. "I am aware of the impact of access to reliable, energy efficient and safe public transportation for all Rhode Islanders. I am delighted to serve my state in this capacity."

RIPTA is charged with providing mass transit service to nearly all of the cities and towns within the State of Rhode Island. An eight member Board of Directors governs the Authority.
Stephanie Ogidan Preston is a Vice President in Commercial Operations at Citizens Bank. Preston serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of College Visions. Prior to joining Citizens Bank, Preston was an independent change management consultant as well as General Manager and Project Manager at Ahold's Stop & Shop. Preston also sits on the boards of Community Preparatory School and formerly Moses Brown School. Preston holds a BS and BA from Duke Universityand an MBA from MIT.
Princess Bomba is the Director of Unity and Diversity at The Wheeler School, an independent day school for girls and boys in Providence. Prior to this, Bomba was an Educational Services Coordinator for the Department of Children, Youth and Families. Bomba is a member of the Board of Directors of Youth in Action and formerly served on the Board of Trustees for The Wheeler School. Bomba earned her BA from Rhode Island College in 1989 and a MA in Counseling from Rhode Island College in 1996.
