Final Report of the Providence County Grand Jury (Reported July 2, 2015)

Jose Morales, age 47

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Jose Morales with two counts of first degree child molestation, two counts of second degree child molestation, one count of first degree sexual assault, and seven counts of second degree sexual assault.

It is alleged that on or about dates between January 2004 and December 2011, Morales molested a child fourteen years of age or younger. It is further alleged that on or about dates between November 2012 and June 2014, again between January 2015 and February 2015, and during the month of April 2015, Morales sexually assaulted an individual.

The alleged events took place in Providence and Cranston, and the Cranston Police conducted the investigation. Morales is currently being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on July 22, 2015.

Stephan McClain, age 47

The Providence County Grand Jury today reported out an indictment charging Stephan McClain with first degree arson and assault with a dangerous weapon.

It is alleged that on or about March 30, 2015, McClain committed first degree arson by setting fire to the building at 152 Early Street in Providence. It is further alleged that McClain assaulted an occupant of the residence with a dangerous weapon, to wit, fire.

The Providence Fire Department Arson Squad conducted the investigation. McClain is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on July 22, 2015.

Christopher Miller, age 29

The Providence County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Christopher Miller with eight counts of first degree child molestation.

It is alleged that on diverse dates between June 2014 and April 2015, Miller molested a child fourteen years of age or younger.

The alleged events occurred in Woonsocket, and the Woonsocket Police conducted the investigation. Miller is currently being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on July 22, 2015.

Jacob Francis, age 36

The Providence County Grand Jury today reported out an indictment charging Jacob Francis with first degree child molestation and second degree child molestation.

It is alleged that on or about dates between January 2013 and December 2014, Francis molested a child fourteen years of age or younger.

The alleged events occurred in East Providence, and the East Providence Police conducted the investigation. Francis is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on July 22, 2015.
